This verse has been one of those “golden nuggets” in my reading lately! How many people are looking for hope in a hopeless world and rest for their weary souls? Yet they are looking for rest in all the wrong places. I was reminded this morning of Matthew 11:28 where it says, “COME unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” THEN the verse that follows is beautiful, “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and YE SHALL FIND REST unto your souls.” Spiritual rest is found in coming to Christ! You see, our works cannot save us(Ephesians 2:8-9), our goodness is nothing apart from Christ(Ps 16:2Romans 3:10-12), and our senstence is death if we do not turn to the Comforter of our souls, Jesus Christ(Romans 6:23). His shed blood on the cross paid the price for our sins(Heb 9:221 Peter 1:18-21) and His resurrection from the dead made Him victory over death(1 Cor 15:55-57)! COME. Come to the Lord, confess you are a sinner(1 John 1:9Acts 3:19-21) in need of a perfect Savior(Psalm 3:8Isaiah 43:11John 1:29), lay your burdens at His feet, and find the rest your soul is desperately longing for. “And He said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.” ❤️
