This is the passage in John 11 that has been going through my mind this morning! He is The Resurrection and the Life…. In Him and by Him we find everlasting, eternal life! I love Martha’s instant reply to the Lord when He presented this question to her. Even in the midst of her extreme heartache and loss, she instantly replied “Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.”(vs 27) She was filled with great sorrow, hurting, and confused. She couldn’t see why The Lord Jesus hadn’t come sooner to save her brother’s life ( verse 21 “Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.”). But even in the midst of her sorrow, she had faith and knew that Christ was the Son of God… the Messiah and the Giver of life! Perhaps you are finding yourself in the same place as Martha? You can’t understand why the Lord has you going through the heartache you are experiencing or perhaps you don’t understand His timing and feel like maybe He is a little “late”. With God there are no mistakes and He is never late! Trust that He has a purpose and plan that far exceeds your own human reasoning(Psalm 18:30), have faith(Heb 11:6) that He works all things together according to His will(Eph 1:11) only for good to them that love Him(Rom 8:28), and take heart because He is faithful and He makes all things beautiful in HIS time(Ecc 3:11)!
